"eighth street framing"

So sorry i have not posted anything new for awhile...i've been so busy with the new business Brandon and i bought! Barb Pearson is retiring from framing, so Brandon and i bought out Crimson Maple!! So exciting...yet so much to do!! i have been neglecting the scrapbook store... so i had to share why it has been awhile since i have posted anything on the blog. We named the custom frame shoppe...{eighth street framing}...although i am sure it will always be known as "Ankeny's"!! But we had fun choosing a name for the shoppe! We began the "big move" back in the middle of April...it went very well...and since then we have been busy little bees setting everything up, painting, organizing, cleaning, installing new track lights, and preparing for an Open House! Our Open house for the frame shoppe was last Saturday...it went very nicely...well attended!

Here are a couple photos from our new "custom frame shoppe"...enjoy!

Quite literally..."TONS"...of frame mouldings to choose from!
(i've already chosen my favourites!!)

The work area...a little messy...but if it stayed clean that might mean i'm not working hard!!

An "overall" view of the frame shoppe...

Our Open House...
So silly...Rob Hammond wanted to have a ribbon cutting, so we all staged this one! Well, the ribbon was actually cut, so i guess it turned out to be real!!

Which brings me to National Scrapbook Day!! Make sure you all mark your calendars for May 3rd...we are going to be having a make-n-take...featuring the new Cosmo Cricket line!!

Birthday Party **Madness**

Little miss Bailey celebrated her 10th birthday here at Scrappy's! She and her cousin love coming to the Kid's Classes every month, and Bailey wanted to have her party here and do a little project. So the scrapbook area was all decorated with Hawaiian theme {everything}!

All 6 of the kids enjoying their "after-school" snacks before the projects began!

For the project, Megan (Bailey's mom) took photos of all of the kids and ran to the store to have them printed in wallet size. Meanwhile, the kids and i began working on the photo frames. We used the new Cosmo Cricket black chipboard and die-cut sheets. (yes, it does take quite awhile to punch out all the little die-cuts, but it's worth it...they are adorable!!)

All the girls busy at work...gluing the chipboard together, gluing them onto their frames, arranging their photos on coloured mats...they were actually quiet for a short time!!

So much fun!! The girls enjoyed the craft and being able to put their own creative taste on it.
After only an hour and a half of "partying" they were off to go enjoy pizza as the last part of the birthday party!!

**thanks for having your birthday party at Scrappy's!!

here's the kit

i tried my hardest to create a cute little recipe card box...i failed miserably! i worked on it for a few days and decided it was just not going to happen! So, instead i created a little book for the Kit of the Month. Here it is...

i put together 11 pages from the Cosmo Cricket Little Boy paper pack. This paper is so absolutely adorable! i used photos of my hubby when he was a little tike...the paper matched perfectly! In the paper pack there are 12 sheets of pattern paper...i only used 11. i decided to use on the papers to "cut-up" and use that way. Every page has a different "sketch" to it...so i will show you how to put together 11 different pages. i have the pages on display in the Cosmo Cricket 8X8 album...unfortunately it's not included in the "kit"...and i only have 2 left here at the store.

Here is a list of everything that is included in the Kit:

What to do when it's COLD outside...

hmmm...well, what i would suggest to do in a nice warm house on a COLD blustery day would be to ORGANIZE all your scrapbooking stuff!! We all know how easy it can be to accumulate *tons* of cute little items and oodles and oodles of paper...and also just how easy it is for it all to "get-out-of-hand" and just keep pilling up!

SO...it's starting to look very chilly outside today...so now is the time to get "ORGANIZED"!!

Here are a few things to help you in the process...

Adorable Ribbon bags...with tons of little "holes" in the bag to pull the ribbon through!

and...lots of these little "embellishment jars" for almost anything you can think of...
small

LARGE
your choice!

And coming soon...Making Memories 12x12 paper storage!

Love, *Elsie

While on the Scrapbook Retreat in Bemidji...i tried out the fabric pattern paper from the
"Love, *Elsie" collection. There are actually two different fabric papers, this polka-dot one and one with little "homes" all over it. I loved the way it worked...i was able to cut through it with just my paper trimmer, the adhesive was already on the back of it, so i didn't need anymore!! Plus, it added so much "charm" to the page! (and the little embossed sticker on the top left corner is from the same collection!)

(just thought i would share!)
**enjoy**
